PLEDGE A MILE

Shrinking the North Atlantic Ocean, one pledge at a time

Kit Innes is a local surfer who had been invited to represent Great Britain at the World Junior Surfing Championship in the Azores. Unfortunately, he did not have the funds, so we offered our services by running him a full social media campaign to encouraging members of the public to #PledgeaMile to get him that one step closer to the Azores.

So, to get Kit to the Azores we conjured up a social media strategy which included a video campaign and a funding project. In the video, we encouraged people who had pledged to the campaign to send in short videos of themselves holding a #PledgeaMile sign whilst saying "I am pledging a mile". This encouraged more people to get involved and be part of the project. The funding campaign was run through a variety of social media platforms to ensure the highest amount of reach possible and was tagged with a simple and catchy slogan of #Pledgeamile. We also used this hashtag on Twitter and Instagram so the masses could have a look at what WeLoveSocial and the local community were doing for the campaign and the progress that was being made.

The end of the story? Kit made it to the Azores and was able to represent Great Britain, surfing with the best surfers in the word.
